The diamond drill was developed on the West Coast of Tasmania, designed by drillers and built by engineers.
Diamond drilling is 100% man-portable, hydraulically driven, 3 speed drill using conventional drilling methods, utilising narrow keyf TT56 and TT46 drill strings.

The drill has manual feed and coupled with hard chrome core barrels, can produce good core recovery in broken ground.

Depending on ground conditions up to 40 metres can be drilled with the "56" equipment and 70 metres with the "46" gear. Angle holes to 45 degrees are ok.

The drilling system's heaviest component is 40kg, which makes mobilisation in rough terrain comparatively easy. No earth works are required.

When drilling on pontoons or barges the free-standing head and manual feed make it easier to control when dealing with swell and tidal changes.

Water is brought on site using twin piston lightweight pumps, which will lift water through 150 metres in elevation and 800 metres in distance. These pumps are also excellent for camp water supplies.
